Each Market Analysis & Forecast is based on the concept
of protecting trading capital and controlling stock market trading
risk. This is based on our original cycle research which follows
the market strategy that market risk covers the overall stock sector
risk and specific stock risk. Our best trading results have been
generated when the stock market, as measured by the Dow Jones Industrial
average, and the market sectors of stocks mentioned within this
newsletter, and our current cycle analysis using proprietary short
term cycles are all moving up. When the overall stock market, sectors
and individual stocks are in directional movement cyclic down,
we try to control risk by observing and waiting for low risk trading
opportunities from the sidelines.
This newsletter will use our unique cycle analysis specializing
in forecasting the directional movement of the stock market as
measured
by the Dow Jones Industrial average. This index, our most reliable
forecasting tool, consists of the oldest cycle studies we have
and dates back with statistical information more than one hundred
years
old. Charles Dow began this average in 1884 with just 11 stocks,
most of which were railroads and the largest companies during
that time. He then composed the Dow Jones Industrial average
in 1896
to make sense of all the Wall Street confusion. Then in 1916
the average
grew to 20 companies and added another 10 in 1928, making it
the Dow 30. This indicator consists of 30 large Blue-Chip companies
which The Dow Jones Corporation believes represent all aspects
of the economy.
